A double in the Game News pipeline…
Part Number One…
Since late 2021, Scott has occasionally been venturing to the Pitstop Studios in Croydon for full-body Performance Capture sessions (where his movements and voice are recorded in unison) in connection with a character for a well-known and very exciting game.
Due to the game still being in production, there’s very little Scott can reveal about it just now but here are some rather fetching images of him wearing a Performance Capture suit and no poses have anything to do with the actual age itself … sadly.
Part Number Two…
In late 2022, Scott auditioned for and was cast in another role for this massive game project! Recording sessions for this started early in 2023, it was a lot more work and it turns out, the character is quite pivotal to the game’s over-arching storyline!
Bringing a game character to life involves the right actor being cast and their ability to help create and perform that character’s movements and voice. They work closely with expert voice and movement directors to do this. However, in many modern games a player’s character is constantly making story influencing choices; insult a character in one conversation and it could shape your experience for the entire game.
All the eventualities need to be crafted and recorded and they have to flow seamlessly together. Actors on a project will often record independently of each other and sometimes even out of sequence but nevertheless the movements and emotions for each line must be performed in such a way that the game developers can stitch them all together in a complex story tree that all makes sense.
It’s complex, hard work and very different from the theatre, film and TV work Scott has done but it’s also great fun and extremely rewarding. It is hoped that this project will get released later this year so watch this space for more information.
